IT’S TIME TO ‘SPARKLE’ AGAIN!

The Sparkle Awards are back for 2024!

How do they differ from our much-anticipated SPAA Travel Awards in November?

Of course, the November Awards mostly recognise our Principals – the companies that work with SPAA travel agencies – while the ‘Sparkles’ celebrate exceptional individual members of travel agency staff in Scotland – both Business and Leisure agents – who look after our customers every day.

For 2024, there are twelve Award categories recognising a variety of Agency roles.  Once again, the judging panel will come from our Sponsors, who will decide the top three Nominees in each category, and the eventual Winners.

The top three from each category will be invited to attend our Sparkle Awards Lunch at the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh on Friday 6th of September, along with their line manager or the colleague who nominated them.

The Sparkle Awards Categories for 2024 are:

  • Leisure Consultant of the Year
  • Leisure Travel Manager of the Year
  • Corporate Travel Manager of the Year
  • Cruise Consultant of the Year
  • Touring and Adventure Consultant of the Year
  • Business Travel Consultant of the Year
  • Team Player of the Year 
  • Corporate Account Manager of the Year 
  • Agency Support Award – (non reservations)
  • Newcomer of the Year
  • Luxury Consultant of the Year 
  • Rising Star of the Year

 

Who can make a nomination?

Anyone within your Company can nominate a colleague – just be sure to clear it with

your supervisor/line-manager. Homeworkers are free to nominate a colleague!

How do I submit a nomination?

Simply complete the form below – we recommend drafting your nomination off line them copying and pasting it into the form fields.

What information do I need to include?

Tell us (in 250-300 words) why you are nominating the person, and give a couple of

examples of the ‘stand-out’ things they have done over the past year to deserve

recognition and your nomination. We’ll need:

  • The nominees name
  • Description of the nominee’s role
  • What they have done over and above their job description to deserve an award with examples of outstanding customer service – eg problem solving, saving the day, coping in a crisis etc
  • Testimonials from clients/Social Media/Trip Advisor etc
  • Any other relevant feedback

Nominations open on Monday 6 May and must be submitted by close of business on Monday 1st July.
